Cornelis Groot

Cornelis was born on May 22nd, 1799 in Oost-Knollendam (NL) and his baptism took place there on May 26th, 1799.¹ Cornelis' father was Jacob Aldertsz. Groot and his mother was Neeltje Harmens Ruijs(ch). His paternal grandparents were Aldert Jacobse Groot and Trijntje Jacobs (Laan). He had five brothers and two sisters, named Auke, Aldert, Harmen, Aldert, Jacob, Sijtje and Zijtje. He was the youngest of the eight children. He had three half-sisters named Trijntje, Grietje and Trijntje Jacobs.
