Maritje, known as Maretje, was born on January 25th, 1770 in Schellingwoude (NL) and her baptism took place there on January 27th, 1770.1   Maretje's father was Frans Greuning and her mother was Mietje Steening.  She had three brothers and six sisters, named Jan, Hendrik, Hendrik, Aaltje, Antje, Hendrikje, Gerritje, Gerritje and Antje.  She was the sixth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 75 on March 19th, 1845 in Schellingwoude (NL).2
