Hendrik was born on October 26th, 1766 in Schellingwoude (NL) and his baptism took place there on November 2nd, 1766.1   Hendrik's father was Frans Greuning and his mother was Mietje Steening.  He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Jan, Hendrik, Aaltje, Antje, Hendrikje, Maretje, Gerritje, Gerritje and Antje.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He died before 1779.
