Maritje was born in 1668 in Oostzaan (NL) and her baptism took place there on January 1st, 1668.  Maritje's father was Pieter Jansz. de Boer and her mother was Trijn Jans.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan de Boer and NN.  She had two brothers and three sisters, named Jan, Lucas, Lijsje, Neeltje and Lopje.  She was the fourth oldest of the six children.
