Jacob was born on December 25th, 1752 in Oostzaan (NL) and his baptism took place there on December 27th, 1752.  Jacob's father was Gerrit Claasz. Schuijtemaker and his mother was Maritje Gerrits (Maartje) van 't Hoog.  His paternal grandparents were Claas Gerrits Schuijtemaker and Kornelisje Kornelis; his maternal grandfather is Gerrit van 't Hoog and his maternal grandmother was Aaltje Barends.  He had two brothers and two sisters, named Arent Gerritsz., Klaas, Cornelisje Gerrits and Leuntje Gerrits.  He died at the age of 86 on March 1st, 1839 in Oostzaan (NL).1
