Arent Gerritsz. was born about 1755 in Oostzaan (NL).  Arent Gerritsz.'s father was Gerrit Claasz. Schuijtemaker and his mother was Maritje Gerrits (Maartje) van 't Hoog.  His paternal grandparents were Claas Gerrits Schuijtemaker and Kornelisje Kornelis; his maternal grandfather is Gerrit van 't Hoog and his maternal grandmother was Aaltje Barends.  He had two brothers and two sisters, named Jacob, Klaas, Cornelisje Gerrits and Leuntje Gerrits.  He died about 1819.
