Louis Oscar August, known as Louis, was born on July 1st, 1841 in Althammer bei Festenburg (DE).  Louis' father was August Winkler and his mother was Friederieke Seide.  His paternal grandparents were Ernst Gottfried Winkler and Anna Rosina Prassin; his maternal grandparents were Johann Gottlieb Seide and Friederieke Wilhelmine Siemers.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 58 on October 15th, 1899.
